Peanut butter is a popular treat made simply from peanuts. In order to make it, there are about 540 peanuts used for each jar. During production, five gallons of water are needed to produce a single ounce of peanut butter as opposed to the 80 gallons of water needed for almond butter.
If you love a good peanut butter sandwich, this quick guide will teach you how to draw your own jar.
Find a blank piece of paper and a black marker. In the upper-left quadrant, draw a single ellipse, leaving enough space at the bottom to make it easier to add the body of the jar beneath it.
On either side of the circle, you will now draw two slightly curved lines. On the left-hand side, draw a line straight down. Then, repeat this step on the right.
Now you will connect these lines to complete the lid of the peanut butter jar. Draw a line that connects the two short lines at the bottom by dragging the pen straight across from left to right.
Once the jar lid is complete, you can create the first side of the jar itself. Begin with a line extending down from near the edge of the peanut butter lid. Draw it outward and then drag it down.
After you have both the lid and one side of the jar drawn, you can begin creating the rest of the jar. Create a similar line and draw it just slightly lower than the other and give it a slight hook.
Both sides of the jar now need to be connected. To do so, draw a horizontal line connecting the hook of the right-hand line to the left-hand line.
The shape of the jar is now complete. To add the label, put the marker in the lower center of the page. Draw a rectangle and connect the four sides.
Give the peanut butter jar a bit of personality. Above the rectangular label on the jar, draw two circles on the left and right, leaving room for the smiling mouth you’ll draw just beneath it.
It’s time to add a companion for the peanut butter. On the right of the jar, draw a slightly hooked, long “C” shape. This will be the crust of your bread slice.
On the left-hand side of the bread slice, draw a straight line. Do so slightly out to the side to begin to make the bread at an angle.
To draw the other side of the bread, complete a similar action. Draw a line down from the right side of the bread on a diagonal that is parallel to the other side of the bread.
To complete the outline of the bread, you’ll need to connect the two lines. At the bottom, draw a horizontal line from the left diagonal line to the bottom of the right line.
Once the bread is complete, you can make it smile like the jar. Add two circles in the center of the bread. Then, create a smiling mouth beneath it.
Give the smiles a bit of personality. You can slightly color in the eyes and leave some white space in the circles. This will give them a shiny, smiling appearance.
Make the jar stand out a bit and add color to the top of the lid. Take a blue marker and fill in the white space in the middle of the circle.
To make the jar slightly more realistic, you can add little hooks of lines vertically throughout. Add around five of them to give the lid a ribbed effect using a slightly darker shade of blue.
Color in the rest of the lid to give it a uniform look or by coloring in the white space along the side of the lid with the same color blue as the top of the lid.
The color of the peanut butter jar can now be colored in. Choose a peanut butter color to complete this. Fill in all of the white space except for the specks in the eyes and the label on the jar.
Make the bread match by outlining the interior border of the bread’s perimeter with the same color marker.
Show that the peanut butter is spread on the bread by adding more color to the center. Around the smiling face of the bread, draw a little blob of peanut butter.
Go back to the jar. Using the same blue as the lid, color in the interior border of the peanut butter label. Leave the white space in between open.
Make the peanut butter and the bread even cuter by giving them some personality. Do this by taking a pink marker and coloring a little oval beneath each eye, which should sit on either side of the mouths. Complete this action both on the bread and the jar.
Finish the bread by adding some yellow color in between the edge of the bread and the blob of peanut butter in the center, filling in the rest of the white space.
Put the finishing touches on the peanut butter jar by adding dots of brown in various sizes to give it a crunchy peanut butter look.
Finally, write the word “peanut butter” on the remaining white space on the label.
And this is how you can draw a jar of peanut butter within a few minutes. Thank you for following this step by step tutorial, and enjoy your peanut butter sandwich!
